In the first day of the preliminary round of the Turkish Cup, Bozkurt Belediyesi beat Maliye Milli Piyango by 3-0. Thus the task of conveying our opinions and views on teams before the leagues start has been our responsibility then.
Maliye were not able to display much spirit except for the last set, as is obvious by the score, in the match they played without the absence of their 2 new foreign players. It was evident from the players’ ability (!) to play with the ball that it has been only 2 weeks the team started the trainings with the ball. Then my colleague Mustafa ├çay─▒r is aiming to fire up the team in the league; that’s why he prepared such a schedule. We couldn’t see Maliye’s two new Venezulean players who had the Olympics experience but the third (Bakulin) one we watched was not able to perform well. In my opinion, he is not sufficient for Maliye as well.
As for Bozkurt Belediyesi, their foreign players depicted a much more solid performance. Their setter has control over his team, the American spiker –despite his short height- is highly talented. The opposite Alexander is strong but inconsistent and he looked like he is not the savior guy to set the ball to him in difficult situations. It would be fair to say that S├╝leyman, the middle blockers of the team, almost conducted block training in this match.
On the second day of the Cup matches ─░stanbul B├╝y├╝k┼čehir Belediye Spor (─░.B.B.) clashed with MEF Okullar─▒. Both teams were perfunctorily out on the match simply because they already secured their spot of qualification in the group. In the match ─░.B.B. played without their injured setter Ula┼č, ─░.B.B. managed to get through by 3-2 by Mustafa’s organizations and the positive game of the US middle blocker Millar.
MEF Okullar─▒, on the other hand, conducted a solid rehearsal against a very good competitor. Without a real wing-spiker playing with three opposites in the match in which MEF Okullar─▒ looked like they are likely to make easy reception errors, Cengizhan strived to take the whole burden of reception as the libero.
On the second match of the day, Maliye Milli Piyango showed up a more compact game, compared to what they did the previous day, against Be┼čikta┼č. Surely it can be said that this was also related to the dispiritedness and unwillingness of the BJK players. Despite all the audience of BJK did not give up on supporting their teams.
I wish success to all the players and technical squads of all teams.
